Suzuki and Toyota have already got into a partnership and we have also seen the launch of first product Toyota Glanza, which is a rebadged version of Maruti Baleno.
Toyota is now all set to launch the next product which is a rebadged version of Maruti Vitara Brezza which will be sold by the name Urban Cruiser.
Both manufacturers will be sharing products and technologies under this partnership and the next product to come out from this partnership is likely to be a mid-size SUV from Maruti Suzuki.
Here we have a render image that shows how the mid-size SUV from Maruti Suzuki could look like.

The new SUV could be named the A-Cross
The renders have been created by Kleber Silva and he has named this new SUV as B-Cross

probably as a hint at the SUV’s positioning.
The SUV seen in the render images is heavily inspired by Toyota Raize which is a sub-4 meter compact SUV.
It is based on Toyota’s DNGA platform and is already sold in Japan and other South Asian markets.
Maruti’s version of Raize is expected to be a bit more longer as they already have Vitara Brezza in the sub-4 meter segment.

The upcoming mid-size SUV will compete with cars like Hyundai Creta

Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster in the segment.

The SUV seen in the images get a Toyota signature split grille but

instead of Toyota badge, we have Suzuki badge here.

The headlights have been redesigned in the Suzuki version

It looks identical to the Raize SUV with LED DRLs, .

Fog lamps and front parking sensors all placed on the exact same place as Raize

Also read: Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Petrol bookings now open  The side profile of the car is not any different.
It gets a dual tone treatment and the sporty looking dual tone alloy wheels have Suzuki logo in the centre.

The roof of the B-Cross even has a spoiler that is an extended part of the roof itself

Moving to the rear, the design remains identical and it has a muscular looking bumper at the rear.
The bumper houses reflectors, .

Parking sensors and the tail lamps are all LED
The split LED lamps are connected with a chrome strip with Suzuki logo in the middle

Toyota Raize is powered by a 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine and there is a possibility that the Maruti version might also be using the same set of engine.
A diesel version is unlikely to be launched as Maruti Suzuki is noe concentrating more on petrol CNG fuel options.

It is challenging to be a woman in a leadership position in the military, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done.
We get a chance to see how Gwendolyn overcame the challenges she faced especially when she made the switch from Enlisted to Officer through Officer Candidate School.   Listen to the full episode here.
Military Career and Financial Peace Gwendolyn Jules served in the US Army from November 1990 to December 2012, started out as an enlisted Private (E2) 71L-Administrative Specialist and retired a Major (O4) Logistician.
She became a mother four months after retiring, got her MBA, and began researching how to have an online information marketing business so she could have the flexibility to travel with my husband who was still in the military.
Currently, she produces a weekly podcast called “Manage Money Build Wealth” where she talks about how her military career was her mode of transportation to reach Financial Independence and Retire Early (FIRE).

Now she wants to help other women reach FIRE and have peace along their financial journey

The Challenge of Officer Candidate School In this episode, we talk about her joining the Army Reserves while in high school because she needed money for school clothes.
She started out in the Reserves but was so bored she decided to skip drill which the military did not appreciate.
They gave her the option to go on active duty.
She decided why not go active duty, .

She had been working at McDonald’s and needed to get a fresh start

Eventually, she ended up going overseas.
Even though she was overseas she continued to work to obtain her degree.
When she reached the rank of E-6 and determining that becoming an officer was the next right step.
She was challenged through the training and being singled out while attending Officer Candidate School (OCS).
That training was hard, but she didn’t quit and became an officer.  Time as an Officer She also deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
She was planning to go to Korea for her last assignment and then transition out of the military.
And that is what happened, .

But while in Korea she met her husband

They got married and she retired out of the military to become a mom.  She tells young women to join the military if they are interested in it, but they should also realize the benefits come at a cost and the mission always comes first.

#4 DOT Promotes Flexibility in Trucking Hours to Maintain Trucker Safety » Hours of Service Rules: A Closer Look First adopted in 1937 » 2020-07-30 03:17:28

In a recently released memo, the U.S.
Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) detailed final rules updating the hours of service to increase safety on roadways by updating existing regulations for commercial truck drivers.
The need for this change has come about due to the disruption in the nation’s trucking supply chain as a result of COVID-19.
The outbreak of the virus this last spring upended everything from logistics to international shipping, which then trickled down to trucking companies, altering their service hours.
In turn, this increased demand has affected trucker’s overall safety.
The solution from the FMCSA was implemented to bring more flexibility to new hours of operation, thus encouraging more rest and support for truck drivers.
Hours of Service Rules: A Closer Look First adopted in 1937, FMCSA’s hours of service rules specify the permitted hours of operation for commercial truck drivers.
In 2018, FMCSA penned an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) to receive public comments on the HOS rules to limit unnecessary burdens placed on truck drivers while upholding Trucker safety on highways and roads.
In 2019, .

The Agency published a detailed proposed rule which received plenty of public commentary

Based on these comments and input, .

FMCSA’s final rule on hours of service offers some revisions to the existing rules

First, the FMCSA will increase safety and flexibility for the 30-minute break rule by requiring a break after eight hours of consecutive driving and allowing the break to be satisfied by a driver using on-duty, not driving status, rather than off-duty status.
Secondly, the FMCSA will modify the sleeper-berth exception to allow truck drivers to split their required 10 hours of off duty time into two periods.
Also, the FMCSA will modify the adverse driving conditions exception by extending the maximum window of time during which truck driving is allowed by two hours.
Lastly, the FMCSA will change the short-haul exception available to certain commercial drivers by lengthening the truck drivers’ maximum on-duty period from 12 to 14 hours and extending the distance limit within which the truck driver may work from 100 air miles to 150 air miles.
This change in hours of service rules is estimated to provide nearly $274 million in cost savings on an annual basis for the U.S.
economy and American consumers.
The trucking industry, although it has seen some disruption in recent years due to fewer available drivers and automation in driving technology, is still a major component of the national economy.
The industry employs more than seven million people and moves nearly 75% of the nation’s domestic freight.
Since the onset of COVID-19, truck drivers have played a key role in getting the country through by driving supplies from state to state.

FMCSA has provided relief to commercial truck drivers to get medical supplies

food, and household goods to Americans in need during these unprecedented times.

#5 How Cloud QMS Simplifies Process Validation? » “Casey Jones” Disc Two — Capitol Theatre » 2020-07-30 00:39:05

( Please allow a few short seconds for your free listening tracks to download ) Rhino’s ongoing 50th anniversary expanded editions of all the Dead releases continues here.
It replicates the 10 tracks on Workingman’s Dead on disc one of this triple platter in remastered sound.
That’s a disappointment for a rather short disc that clocks in at just over a half hour.
The bounty of demos.

Rehearsals and other rarities has been recently made available to stream though.  Still

the improved audio is beautifully rendered and provides more breathing room to appreciate the intertwining guitars on the primarily acoustic track list.
As a teenager previous to this game changing release, I had already attended several mind bending Dead shows at Bill Grahams legendary Fillmore East in the late 60’s and this new musical track was a far cry from the psychedelic, experimental and jam oriented music the band had founded its career on to that point and a total revelation.
Making hay, the Dead at Work; Billy, Pig,Bobby, Mickey, Phil and Jerry.
From fourty five minute lysergic, .

Feedback filled versions of “Dark Star>st

Stephen>Dark Star” to the sweet simplicity of their four minute fifty one second first semi-commercial hit, “Casey Jones” blew minds of already well blown minds at the time and has influenced bands ever since.
Workingman’s songs are now timeless from subtle chugging of “Uncle John’s Band” and driven by Phil Lesh’s rumbling bass lines with its exquisite Crosby.

Stills and Nash styled harmonies

the floating pedal steel country of “Dire Wolf,” the bluegrass/rockabilly of “Cumberland Blues” with Pigpen’s gutsy country blues showcase “Easy Wind,” and the post Altamonte Speedway debacle tribute, “New Speedway Boogie” that would all become staples in Dead concerts for decades to come.
Disc One, Track 04: New Speedway Boogie / 4:06  https://www.easternsurf.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/1-04-New-Speedway-Boogie-2020-Remaster.m4a The two drummers (Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann) aren’t evident on most of these low key tunes where percussion isn’t a significant part of the sound.

And other than Pigpen’s few lead vocals

he is barely noticeable in the mix.
Regardless, there is no doubt that Workingman’s Dead not only explored new sonic and musical territory for the band, but exposed them to a larger audience by emphasizing a more organic approach.
The  real gold in this reissue includes a previously un-released.

2 ½ hour concert recorded at Portchester New York’s Capitol Theatre on February 21

1971, spread over two discs.
Since the performance was after the release of both Workingman’s Dead and the follow-up American Beauty LP, there are plenty of selections from both along with other Dead classics such as “Bertha,” “Loser,” and “China Cat Sunflower> I Know You Rider”.
Disc Two, Track 03: Loser / 6:47 https://www.easternsurf.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/2-03-Loser-Live-at-the-Capitol-Theatre-Port-Chester-NY-2_21_1971-2020-Remaster.m4a The audio on this nearly 50 year old gig is superb.  Each instrument and especially the vocal harmonies are crisp and clear.
And even though drummer Mickey Hart is MIA (he was at the beginning of his sabbatical with the band), there is no lack of percussive groove with just Kreutzmann, even on the drum solo section of the show appended to a 17 minute version of the Rascals’ “Good Lovin’.” Other high points from a setlist of high points include “Cold Rain And Snow”, “Loser”, “Bertha” and “Wharf Rat” all featuring Jerry’s voice as clear and captivating as it ever got and the band totally locked in and deep in the zone and worth the price of admission alone.
Disc Two Track 06: Bertha / 6:12 https://www.easternsurf.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/2-06-Bertha-Live-at-the-Capitol-Theatre-Port-Chester-NY-2_21_1971-2020-Remaster.m4a The Dead were so on top of their game in and out of the studio at this time it is considered by many as their Golden Era of their musical career, especially on live performances such as this one and before hard drugs began taking Jerry down and newer band members like the caterwauling vocalist, Donna Godchaux and the horribly raspy voiced keyboardist, Brent Mydland started making some of their songs unlistenable in later iterations of the band.
Disc Three, Track 05: I’m A King Bee / 7:32 https://www.easternsurf.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/3-05-Im-A-King-Bee-Live-at-the-Capitol-Theatre-Port-Chester-NY-2_21_1971-2020-Remaster.m4a And while Pigpen is mostly missing in the mix for large segments of the gig battling his own imminent demise due to alcohol abuse, he is featured on Slim Harpo’s “I’m a King Bee,” “Easy Wind” and the aforementioned “Good Lovin’” finale.
Overall the band is in spirited, energized form and it’s enlightening to hear early live versions of selections from both Workingman’s and Beauty that would stay in the Dead’s set for years, and are still some of the most beloved of the group’s extensive legacy.
And, arguably, the pinnacle of their music career both in studio and in concert.
